Drawn to dystopia? Many of us are. Some speculate that we love dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction because our lives have become too safe. Some speculate that it comes from our fear of a vastly unsafe near future of severe environmental change and global strife.
Or maybe it is just a great plot device. How do characters perform when pushed to their limits? ASHES, ASHES explores characters' survival in a fictional devastated America while RESCUE features short nonfiction pieces exploring people, literally, at the end of their ropes.
