Unfair Fairies: The WONDROUS STRANGE and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM Conversation

"The course of true love never did run smooth."
--Puck, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

True love is not on the mind of WONDROUS STRANGE's heroine, Kelley Winslow.  Her head is hardly turned by the young man in Central Park as his presence interrupts her desperate line memorization.  A lead actress'  broken ankle catapults understudy Kelley into the role of Titania the Fairy Queen in Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.  (Not to mention she is a bit distracted by a kelpie living her bathtub...)

The fairy world of Kelley's Off Broadway theater sets the stage for a more modern tale of fairies and pulls readers towards Shakespeare's most beloved comedy.  What clever cross overs did you discover in Lesley Livingston's WONDROUS STRANGE?  What scenes of  A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM did WONDROUS STRANGE make you want to hear performed?

I'm a little way into Wondrous Strange and wanted to see who the narrator was and was pleasantly surprised to see that it's the author so far she is doing a very good job. I thought I'd listen to the modern version first then go back to the Shakespeare which I haven't read since high school and that was...well a while ago...however Midsummer Night's Dream has always been my favorite. Sorry it took me so long to get these listened to!
OH No I didn't get the whole book of Wondrous Strange only the first 3 parts I don't know what happened so I won't be able to compare them but I'm listening to Midsummer Night's Dream now!
