On a plane a couple of years ago I talked to a college-aged young man who was THRILLED to learn I work in the audiobook industry (this doesn't happen regularly). He loved audiobooks. Throughout his early years in school he struggled with reading, and audiobooks had helped him see what he was missing. They motivated him to work harder at reading, and kept him going.

That's a terrible subject for an Audiobook Community website, right?
I'm a big fan of audiobooks, but I started one recently and got about one disc into it, and thought "I need to read this in print." There wasn't anything wrong with the audio, the narrator was well-cast and handled the male/female voices well. But in this particular book, the characters start out as well-drawn stock characters.
