Alas, not headed to LA - am headed due East, to Portland, Maine, where AudioFile anxiously awaits my arrival (as do many loving friends who will console this melodramatic heartbroken girl - long story short, got dumped at a *really* bad time, and am making huge life changes on top of that). I do, however, have a dear friend - Ian Harvie, transman comedian extraordinaire - who also lives in LA, and one of these days, I intend to take advantage of his frequent invites to pretend that the rest of the world doesn't exist, and just lounge by his pool in the southern Cal sun. When it happens, I *will* find you - in the meantime, I shall be an east coast girl with a west coast flair :)
Don't forget about us over here at ABC, now... My cross-country trek to be on-site at AudioFile begins Tuesday, which means I'll be paying even closer attention to the happenings here starting in July - we want more Gunhild :) Hope you're well!
You are too kind, m'lady! And I will most certainly let you know if my travels take me south - you must promise to do the same should you be in the Bay Area :)
I would give anything to be at BEA! Unfortunately, I am currently a remote staffer for AudioFile and will not be making the trek from San Francisco. Next year, though......!
And alas, my mother just happened to know a little girl who had my name and she loved it - no actual Danish blood. I bet you'd pronounce my name correctly, though; that's always a beautiful thing :)
Hi, Gunhild; so glad to have you here on ABC! From your comment about BEA, I figured that you're an industry professional, so I cheated a bit and found you on LinkedIn - being the "new kid" on staff at AudioFile, I have a lot of catching up to do with the Who's Who of audiobooks! As new members join us when we come out of beta next week, it will be great for professional and member connections to include a bit of information in the "About Me" section of your page - any keywords you include will bring you up in a search of the community, so it's a terrific resource for finding others who share your interests or business aims.
Thank you so much for joining us, and I look forward to seeing you around the community!
