I usually do 2 seperate posts one for #fridayreads and one for #fridaylistens sometimes its just titles and sometimes more than that but with my fridaylistens I always mention author and narrator. I'm @MissSusie66 btw.
Currently trying out TweetDeck and Tweetie for Mac...but not enthusiastic about either one yet...might need to find some more to throw into the mix and then choose.
Do you use a Twitter client, like HootSuite or TweetDeck? or just the regular Twitter page? I am not sure about other clients--I use HootSuite--but there you can make a separate feed for hashtags and follow the discussions related to them.
Love knowing that so many people are participating (1000+!)...need to remember to search by hashtag, as I often forget to do so and then don't really have a feel for what's happening out there.
Usually I'll give it a bit more time, but not always.
There's one book, put out by my company (Tantor), that was narrated by an award-winning narrator and won an AudioFile Earphones Award--and I cannot get through it. It's so…
Thanks Xe! I would hope that people would reply no matter if they are listening to a Tantor book or not; it's not a popularity contest, you know? They don't even have to reply @ us--they can just tweet it regularly and it will show up in…
When I'm currently listening to something, I do - usually combined with #fridayreads. I like that they are combined...reminds readers that audiobooks are just another nifty way to read! Love that you've been asking Tantor's followers…
I'm impressed by the commentary you can fit in. Most people just put the title, author, and narrator. All depends on how many characters you have left, I'm sure.
here what I said last week. I don't do a lot of commentary, but I fit in what I can:
Room / Emma Donoghue strange #FridayREADS The Eyes of the Dragon / Stephen King read by Bronson Pinchot he's a good screamer #FridayLISTENS
I tweet from @swanroad on friday with #fridayreads and #fridaylistens in one post, which is a fun test of my succinctness. I've been posting #fridaylistens since dec.
Has anyone else out there been participating in this? For personal or company use? I've been using this for the Tantor account (@TantorAudio), and tweeting what I'm listening to, and what other staff are listening to (also incorporating #staffpicks). I'm also asking our followers to share theirs. I know Bethanne Patrick (@thebookmaven) gets 1,000s of participants in #fridayreads--maybe someday we'll get up to those numbers! Anything to promote audiobooks and audio awareness... See More
Karen, are your personal page and your business page linked? That might be why.
We've had problems with making changes to the Tantor account, because we don't have a "real" person as the admin. We made up a fake FB account to be…
Paul Johnson made a comment on the Audies Post-Mortem thread, and that comment rang true with me...I didn't go to the Audies, but I did meet a bunch of narrators after APAC on Monday night.
Paul said "it was actually meeting the people who make up that part of my day every day when I listen to an audiobook that was really cool." Except add "when I'm at work " to "when I… Continue
oops! I was so excited about finding this site that I forgot to add any comments, such as the fact that I'm responding to the free MP3 CD giveaway! Who knew I'd actually get something I'd like for my birthday?! (well, hopefully)
I wouldn't say it if it weren't true - I think one salient point is that Tantor only appears to work with very experienced narrators. I wouldn't want to direct myself until I had done it for quite a few years. And even then, its not for everyone. Probably has something to do with how one's right and left brains interact...
Hey there; hadn't seen you around in a few days, so I wanted to remind you that we go live on Monday! If there are any last-minute fixes or suggestions you'd like us to consider, please swing on by the ABC Feedback group sometime this weekend. Hope it's a great one for you!
