I like to review the Michel Thomas language instructions.  The 1st audio for each language covers important elements of pronunciation that are equally important for the accent.  Many of these are available for free download at audible.com.

That's great -- we'll check it out and add it to the list.   The list is about to go onto the APA Resources site and also onto a website that Judith West is creating just for it.  People can continue to contribute to it.…

Useful but with limitations, obviously.  Luckily, pretty much every word or expression I've looked up on that site have not been obscure.  Just obscure to me. :)

I have to admit (grumpily) that the synthetic speech applications can be useful.  For instance, a Finnish friend just posted something on my FB in Finnish, and I was able to use Google Translate not only to find out what it meant but to listen…

When you click on the arrow to the right of the default voice (which appears to be US - Heather) just follow the blue on the right side of the box.  Scroll up for Arabic, Czech, etc., and down for French, German, etc.    I tried a…

Hmmm... as I said I've only used it for Scottish and English words (along with some French and German) and I don't believe any words I've checked have been obscure like the town you input.  Glad I haven't used it for…

I'm not so sure about this one.  First of all, it's all synthetic speech, which, well, you know, is a little hard to stomach if you're a narrator.  And I could only get four English "speakers" on the link you gave.…

Okay, this is SO obscure, but it has all kinds of links that might lead to a broader array of American tribal language sites.  It has sound files for words in the Cahto language, one of the Athabascan languages spoken by tribes in northern…

I know the audio cd's can be bought, but I am having a hard time finding the digital download version... Or maybe I am too impatient and it's just not been released yet, lol. Anyways, hope you have a wonderful evening, your friend and fan, Brandy :)

Hello :) I have listened to the first five books in the Bloody Jack series and have been blown away by your performance! I am sure I would have enjoyed the books but with your skills you help bring the characters to life in a natural and exciting way, and I thank you for that. I must say you have a very beautiful voice when you sing the songs Jacky performs. Did you come up with the tune for the words yourself? If so amazing, if not still amazing ;). I look forward to other works you have done and will always be on the look out for future ones :). You are very gifted and I am glad to have been introduced to your work, thanks to Tavia Gilbert who I also greatly admire :). Have a wonderful day!

There is so much to learn to become a audiobook voice over talent. I look at people who are so established and I get intimated immediately. It will be years before I even feel worthy to be on these pages with amazing voice artists such as yourself. Thank you for your connection.

Hi Katy! That's great, I'll look forward to reading David's feature. We are in the thick of tech w/all the stuff that tech brings. There are a lot of elements to this show. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts after you see it.
How are you? I've meant to call you but have been swamped with all this.
Alright, gotta make some food to get me through this day. Talk soon.
