Just posted about the audiobook versions of the New York Times TEN Best Books of 2011.
Fun to find that 9 of them are available as audiobooks. Some we gave Earphones Awards to, some we liked a lot--and one we had narration issues with.

Narrating "Wait For Me" was engaging on every level imaginable.
The memoir unfolds in a fairly chronological way, and the sense of humour, balance and down to earthness of the author is at the fore throughout. It is full of insights and perspective, of times gone by and the present day.
The Kennedy's figure quite prominently as the duchess's husband, Andrew Cavendish's older brother was married to Kathleen Kennedy.
I have to say I was very moved by this book and find myself thinking about aspects of her life on a daily basis. It worked for me on all levels, and includes her remembrances of tea with Hitler, miscarriages, insights about her sister's, her love of Elvis etc.
It reads just as if you are having afternoon tea with a wise, funny dear longtime friend.
Thank you for recommending the NEA /Big Read link regarding THE THINGS THEY CARRIED (by Tim O'Brien.) I'm working on a blog post about the book this week and I'll be sure to post the review link from My Page when it's done!
